My Partner in Crafting Crime Uncoloured Image

The theme this fortnight at My Partner in Crafting Crime is 'Uncoloured image' and we would love to see you come and play along! It seems like a daunting challenge but it is actually pretty simple-just have to stay away from my beloved Promarkers!
I wanted to create a CAS card and my new little ink pads from Papermania were perfect for this challenge. I cut two label sizes with my nesties, and stamped the gorgeous birds and 'Have a tweet day' greeting from a lovely free set I got with a magazine. I then mounted this onto card which complimented the ink colour, and mounted this on a cream card blank. Lastly I simply embellished the card with silver gems.

OSAAT 4th July/Picnics

Its a new challenge at One Stitch at a Time and this week our theme is '4th of July/Picnics' I would love to see some of you come and join in! I was given Bonna's digi to play with-isnt it cute! It is available along with many other great digis at Stitchy Bear Digi Stamp Store.
For this project I used Papermania mini colour ink pads, USA themed stamps from a prize, Digi coloured with Promarkers and red, white and blue cardstock.
I started by colouring the digi with my Promarkers and a sakura pen for glittery stars on the US flag. I then got out the USA themed stamps which had a 'Happy 4th of July' stamp, and firework stamps which I felt suited the digi perfectly.
I mounted this image onto red and blue cardstock, then placed on a white card blank.

LOTV I believe in Fairies

I love the challenge at Lili of the Valley challenge this week 'I believe in Fairies' and I adore this stamp!
I coloured her with Promarkers and a sakura stardust pen, and wanted to echo the colours I chose in the papers and embellishments so I chose to use Papermania Capsule Collection 'Heather' coupled with Coredinations cardstock and Pearlescent cardstock.
I layered her image onto two colours of Pearlescent cardstock which matched her dress as a frame.
I then layered her onto panels of patterned papers and Coredinations cardstock. I left tiny gaps between the panels on the basecard. I attached paper flowers and roses glittered with stickles, a beautiful chipboard butterfly with a trail of gems, and three card candy pieces in the corner.
I have taken a couple of photos in different lights so you can see every detail.

Special 40th Birthday

My mum asked me to make a special 40th birthday card for her workmate and  this is what I came up with. For this project I used: Coredinations cardstock, Buttons, Gems and Kirsty Wiseman design papers. I cut shapes with my Cricut (Butterflies, Flower flourish panel, Butterfly border, 40, and flourish) in two different shades of purple Coredinations cardstock. I started by mounting the flowery panel onto the pretty paper and then onto lighter purple cardstock, then mounted this panel onto the darker colour. I then folded the card into an easel design and placed this panel at the top of the card. I then reflected the top panel in the bottom by mounting the design papers onto dark card, light card then the dark card, then mounted on the bottom of the easel. I then placed the lighter card butterfly border across the panel, and three buttons to anchor the card when it is up. Then I took the little butterflies I cut with my Cricut and arranged them on the top panel, and added gems. Next I place…

OSAAT Bling it on!

This week at One Stitch at a Time our challenge is Bling it on! Perfect for digging out those lovely glitters, glitter pens and gems :-) I would love to see some of you come and join in-we always have fabulous prizes on offer!
For this project I used Oase 'Chocolate Valentines' papers, and Teri's Kissing Butterflies (both found at Stitchy Bear digi store) image coloured in Promarkers, Sakura stardust gelly roll and stickles, gems, butterflies and hearts cut with my lovely Cricut, and Crackle accents.
I started by making like a patchwork background with Oase's papers, leaving a little white border alongside each. I then placed the coloured image in the centre, then added the butterflies and gems around the outside. I then covered the hearts in Crackle accents and placed them in the bottom corner. I then placed three pink flower gems in the top right hand corner, and added Stickles and pearl effect to give a really glam look :-)

Summer Bunny

I was inspired by the theme at Lili of the Valley this week-'Here comes Summer' and the gorgeous weather we had to day-you can see by the lovely bright natural light I took the photos in on my windowsill :-)
For this challenge I used: Lili of the Valley Cupcake Bunny stamped in Memento and coloured with promarkers, My Minds Eye Summer papers and matching greeting, Coredinations gemstones cardstock, 3D vellum butterflies, and gems.
I decided to have a play at make a 3D card for a change. I cut a panel from the card blank and folded it the opposite way to the rest of the card. I then covered the back of the card and the top of the 3D panel. Next I mounted the bunny image onto the front of the panel. I then covered the bottom of the card with three different papers from the set, and attached the greeting to gemstones cardstock in a complimentary colour, and finished with gems.
I then placed the butterflies fluttering about behind the bunny, and gems for their route across the car…

LOTV Happiness be yours

I have wanted to play with my Papermania Aqua capsule collection papers for a while and thought LOTV challenge was the perfect chance-its easy to forget the gorgeous papers we have had in our stash for a while!
For this project I used LOTV image stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers, Magnolia sentiment stamped in Memento, Plain cardstock, Papermania Aqua Capsule Collection papers and bow, Ribbon from a prize I won at Fantastic Ribbons, a glitter butterfly, gems and paper flowers.
I matted and layered each design paper onto different colour mat cardstock, then reflected this on the LOTV coloured image. I then echoed the polka dots in the paper with a paper flower, bow and the ribbon I used as a border. I placed the sentiment on colour mat cardstock and placed it on foam pads in the left hand corner, then a butterfly in the top right hand corner, with a gem trail.

My Partner in Crafting Crime-Twine, Jute or String!

This fortnight at My Partner in Crafting Crime our theme is using 'Twine, Jute or String'. We have some great prizes so I would love to see some of you join in with us!
My card was made using Magnolia image stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers, Bloom and Grow 2x12 paper, string, Polka dot tag and green card stock.
I started with an a5 card card, and cut panels of  Bloom and Grow panels with flashes of the green of the card base to match Edwin's jumper. (My favourite paper) I then placed the image to one side, and framed them with string with knots tied all the way round. I then placed the tag, with string tied at the top through the eyelet. I then handwrote the sentiment 'Forget me not'-which I felt matched with the knotted string border.

OSAAT Anything Goes!

Sorry this post is a little late, have been feeling pretty poorly today! This week at One Stitch at a Time our theme is 'Anything Goes'-the perfect challenge! I would love to see some of you come and play along!
I chose Sue's Krizza at Stitchy Bear Digi Stamps Store. I thought she suited a gothic look so I used a silver card as my base, purple coredinations, purple card embossed with Swiss dots embossing folder through my Cuttlebug, card candy, Black glitterations 'Best wishes greeting' and a hot pink swirly tag. I chose a CAS look and I wanted to leave her black and white but added a splash of purple with my promarkers on her lacy tights to tie her in with the rest of the card.

The Tide always Turns

My first project in ages! I won these lovely tilda stamps on ebay-a total bargain! I have been feeling poorly and I have been desperate to play with them and this is my first effort!
For this project I used a Magnolia image stamped in Memento and coloured with promarkers, my nesties labels, Gingham paper from Laura Ashley, Gingham buttons, Blue paper roses and a blue bow from Papermania.
I wanted to keep it quite simple as I wasnt up to much but I am really pleased with how it turned out. I inked the edges of the nesties shape and the sentiment with a blue ink pad, then placed the sentiment on foam pads to make it stand out from the image.

For this project I used Core'dinations cardstock, 'Kissing Butterflies' by Teri at Stitchy Bear Digi stamps, Promarkers, Papermania Summer Bloom holographic cardstock and gems.
I started by scoring the lines for the folds and cuts in the core'dinations cardstock on my Martha Stewart scoreboard, then cut the middle panel so the image is fixed in the middle around the folds. I cut two panels of Summer bloom cardstock for each end panel and lastly added lilac gems to show the butterfly's journey to the image. I would love to know what you think!

Citrus Tilda and setting my butterflies free

For this project I used: Tilda stamped in Memento, coloured in Promarkers, My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow papers, greeting, and embellishments, Tim Holtz ink, Papermania Capsule Collection bow and pearlised card.
I started by inking all the edges of my papers and pearlised card with a Tim Holtz tea dye ink pad. I placed the papers in opposing corners, leaving little borders of white card showing, and blocks of white space on either side. I placed tilda in the top left hand corner and placed a bow. I then filled the white blocks with a greeting in the bottom left hand corner, and arranged two flowers and leaves in top right hand corner.

My Partner in Crafting Crime Incorporate numbers!

Its time for another challenge at My Partner in Crafting Crime and this fortnight we would like you to incorporate numbers on your creation. I would love to see some of you enter-we have a great prize of digis of your choice from the Bows and Berries Digi Store!
This challenge was very useful to me as a male family member is about to celebrate his 60th birthday and I wanted to create something really special.
For this project I used Papermania Hampstead papers and glitter strips, Cricut, Martha Stewart Scoreboard, Coredinations cardstock, White Card.
I wanted my project to pop and I thought green coredinations numbers would do that against a orange/red panel so I used my Cricut to cut the numbers. I then used my Martha Stewart Scoreboard to score the cut lines and fold lines, I then used panels of paper for each area and finished with the glitter strips. I will try and post a tutorial soon to show you how to make a card like this.

OSAAT Emboss it!

Its Sunday so time for another challenge over at One Stitch at a Time, and this week we are asking you to use embossing. I chose Sylvie's Best friends from the Stitchy Bear digi store-arent they just adorable?!
For this project I used: Sylvie's Best friends image coloured in Promarkers, Coredinations pink and whitewash pink cardstock, Paisley and Swiss dots embossing folder and nesties put through my Cuttlebug, Card candy, Buttons, Distressed butterfly, 'a Special wish' greeting, and a heart dressmaking pin.
I started by embossing the cardstock and as debossed the whitewash coredinations panel, and as the sanding didnt work very well I found a new technique-I distressed it by passing really double sided tape over the panel until it removed the whitewash finish from the cardstock on the debossed design. I placed the panel of whitewash coredinations card in the bottom right hand corner, leaving a little border apart from a space for embellishments in the top right hand c…
