Sarah Hurley Challenge: Easter

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am still hop-a-long, turns out that fall I had was more serious than first realised at A&E, ended up in a cast for a couple of days and now I have crutches :-/ 

Here is my card for Sarah Hurley's challenge this week which is 'Easter'. For this project I used Sarah Hurley's Easter Digi kit available here plus only a couple more bits-shows how easy it is to make pretty cards on a budget! All I added was my card blank, some bakers twine and card candy. I sewed the banners with the Bakers Twine-that was really hard work but I think it was worth it :-)

While I am here I have another Painted lady butterfly photo for you-I raise them and they hatched yesterday so I am taking lots of photos to show you how beautiful they are :-)

My New Butterflies and LOTV in pink

Good morning everyone! Look at what I awoke to this morning-a newly hatched painted lady butterfly I have raised from a Caterpillar! I will be showing some of my favourite photos of  them before I set them free in a couple of days, all five have now emerged and are all doing well-mainly drying their wings at the moment :-) I hope youve enjoyed me sharing my excitement! :-)

And here is my card for LOTV National craft month using one of their new Ballerina stamps I adore! I coloured her with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, then cut round her with a nestie. I then mounted her onto a scalloped circle nestie shape and used Papermania Henbury Lane papers. I cut butterflies out of these papers with a memory box die, and a butterfly border out of matching cardstock. I used the tiny butterflies to flutter around the Ballerina :-) I also used a Spellbinders die for my large butterfly and lastly I added complimenting gingham buttons :-)

Lili of the Valley Spring Together Forever

Good afternoon everyone, posting this card way after making it and dont want to miss the deadline-I ended up back at a&e monday and they put me in a cast for the injury I suffered a couple of weeks ago so its been difficult to get around!
For this project I used Lili of the Valley image stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, Bo Bunny Country Garden papers, Papermania capsule collection cardstock and bows, gems, WOC flowers, and lace. I chose to follow the sketch at Lili of the valley but used my embellishments in sets of threes.

Lili of the Valley Hello Bunny!

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a card made with a LOTV stamp I hadnt had a chance to play with yet-I love it, its so cute!
I stamped it with Memento and coloured with Promarkers, cut around with a nestie shape. I used Prima papers, a wooden fabric covered butterfly with a trail of gems and lastly some card candy. The papers are so busy that I didnt want to overload with embellishments!

Whiff of Joy Hello little Butterfly and News!

I am very proud to have been asked to join the Dream Valley Design team from April, cant wait to join in with the fun over there-thank you for asking me :-) 

Here I am with a card using my new Whiff of Joy stamp I adore-I have a love for butterflies and raise a couple of broods each year myself-actually right now I have five little Chrysalides turning my cute little caterpillars into beautiful Painted lady butterflies-I will post photos when they emerge :-)
Anyhow I stamped her in Memento and coloured her with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, cut her with a nestie shape and added my 'Happy Birthday' dome greeting in the bottom right corner of this shape. I used Bo Bunny 'Forever Fall' papers, which I placed to get the best effect of their gorgeous patterns-I couldnt bear to cover these up! :-) I added Papermania autumn leaves and American crafts polka dot ribbon and some card candy to finish my card.

Altered Photo Frame

Here I am with something different-an altered photo frame that I made for my friends birthday. It started life as a boring plain wood effect frame, and so I thought I would jazz it up with some of my favourite papers and embellishments and make it a really lovely present.
I used K&co papers, Wild orchid roses, Wooden filigree heart and two tiny pearls running down from the heart.

Lili of the Valley New Hat in Yellows

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-) I am still struggling, I actually fell over again last night and reinjured myself so I am feeling sorry for myself because it hurts an awful lot! Here I am to cheer myself up with a card I made for my friend to give to her mum on Mothers day :-) She asked me for a card in yellows so I used my Lili of the Valley New Hat image stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers, coloured to match my Papermania Capsule collection papers in 'Sunshine'. I matched the coredinations card to the papers also.
For this project I used my stitch perforator tool-it is a little circle which you run across the paper and it makes holes to sew which makes it less time consuming :-)
I used American Crafts polka dot ribbons, Lili of the Valley greeting stamp, Hat pin and capsule collection brad and bow that match the papers perfectly.

Lili of the Valley Ballerina in Purples

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-)  I still cant move very well after my fall, getting very frustrating!
Here I am with a card made with one of my favourite LOTV images from their last new release, which I stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers, Flexmarkers, and Sakura stardust pens.
I used Papermania Heather Capsule collection papers with a base of Dovecraft polka dot basics paper. I also used Papermania glitter card for my nestie scalloped circle, plus my butterfly cut with a spellbinders die. I stamped out a LOTV Birthday greeting circle and added Capsule collection gems on this and as a trail from the butterfly. Lastly I added three Capsule collection brads in the top left hand corner.

Sarah Hurley Challenge: Steampunk

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Sorry this is a day late but you wont believe what happened yesterday! I had a bad fall and Sprained my ankle and ripped ligaments in one foot, plus badly bruised and grazed my other knee so spent the morning in A&E! :-/ So cant really move :-/
Anyway here is my project for Sarah Hurley's Challenge this week-'Steampunk'. For this project I used Sarah Hurley Steampunk CD available at her etsy here. I also used Sizzix (I think) cogs embossing folder, bronze cardstock, a vintage button and Tim Holtz distress inks.
To make the cog have that pattern behind it I reprinted on a patterned paper I had previously printed from the CD.

Lili of the Valley Spring Bunny

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a Good luck card with a spring theme, celebrating seeing the daffodils starting to bloom and longer, brighter days :-)
For this project I used Lili of the Valley image stamped in Memento and coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, My Minds Eye papers, a vintage button (isnt it just gorgeous?) and a good luck dome greeting.
To achieve the look in the top right corner I folded the double sided patterned paper to show the other side and added another patterned paper in the void it left behind, then used foam pads to glue down the fold and added my vintage button :-)

Lili of the Valley Fairy in Pinks

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a card using one of my all time favourite Lili of the Valley stamps. I chose my papers to be Papermania Henbury Lane, my other favourites, and coloured everything to match these. 

I stamped her in Memento and coloured her with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Sakura stardust pens. I then cut round her with one set of nesties, I placed her on a mat of a different shape nestie, and added a large pink nestie like the image one on an angle behind the mat. It just goes to show how they all compliment each other. I used Memory box 'Butterfly delights' die for my little butterflies, then my Martha Stewart large Butterfly die for the corner-to which I added gems on the body and as a trail from its flight over my card. 

I cut a swirl with a Marianne swirl die out of pink glitter card, then placed Wild Orchid Crafts roses over the main section of this swirl. I added pink polka dot ribbon from my stash. Lastly I added a 'Thinking of You' dome greeting beneath the flowers.

Good afternoon, hope you are well :-) Here I am with another card using the gorgeous new release Ballerina at Lili of the Valley and inspired by the Peaches and Cream challenge at Lili's Little Fairies :-)
I stamped her in Memento and then coloured her with Sakura Stardust pens, Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
I cut and embossed round her with a nestie.
I used My Minds Eye papers, Dovecraft cream cardstock, Cream lace, gorgeous roses and leaves from my stash and some Card Candy. Lastly I added a dome greeting with Happy birthday in gold.

Sarah Hurley Challenge: Birthday Celebrations

Our challenge at Sarah Hurley Challenges is 'Birthday Celebrations' and for this project I made a simple but effective bold card.
I used Sarah Hurley 'Wonderland' cd available at her etsy store here for my paper and image, then used the red in the image to reflect with my embellishments-die cuts of red glitter card out of Spellbinders butterfly die and Memory Box Spring Border die.
Lastly I added a panel edged with Red Distress inks where I placed 'Birthday Wishes' black glitterations greeting.

Sarah Hurley Steampunk!

Good evening everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here to show you one of my first projects made with the fabulous new Steampunk CD by Sarah Hurley available at her Etsy shop here!
I really love this collection, especially the colours and the ease of which you can make any kind of project but especially those dreaded male cards! I made this one for my male cousin, I hope he likes it :-)
For this project I used Steampunk papers, tickets, Bingo cards, Digis and just a couple of extra bits from my stash-a 'Happy Birthday' peel off and some buttons I recycled from an old top.
I achieved the hot air balloon on the paper by reloading the patterned paper into the printer and then printing the digi on top, I really love this method because it means less colouring and it fits your project perfectly!
