Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a project that is a little bit different! The patterns on the butterfly are made entirely of ribbon :-)
For this project I used my Cricut to cut a large butterfly shape, then I affixed Ribbon all over the Butterfly then cut round it from behind with material scissors. Then I edged it with stickles to stop the ribbons fraying.
I attached this to a 6x6 easel card, and used Papermania Secret Garden papers as a background. I added some ribbon to the base, and matching wire mesh butterflies in each corner.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with my last Guest Design project for May for Crafty Sentiments Designs. I would just like to say thank you for the opportunity to Guest design with you-I have really enjoyed it! :-)
I was given this fab digi to use which I coloured in Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used Prima Reflections papers and a 'Romance' sentiment from my stash which I added card candy to.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well! Here I am with a canvas I have made with my favourite subject butterflies!
For this project I cut two different sized Butterflies from my Cricut create, which I then drew round with pencil on my canvas. I mixed a colour with Acrylic paints to make my background colour and painted this round the butterflies shapes I had drawn on.
Next I raided my Vintage buttons tin! I found lots of gorgeous buttons to use and made the butterfly shape with my assorted buttons :-)
Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a card I made for my cousins engagement. I used Echo Park papers. I started with the Script paper and edged it with pink ink. I then cut butterflies out of the papers and some out of glitter card. I then edged these with pink ink too. I placed the butterflies across the card and folded them up as if flying. The large butterfly has two layers of wings, out of glitter card and paper on top. I then embellished the paper butterflies with gems.
I then added pearls in the top corner, then added some to a label shape where I added my sentiment.
Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with my DT card for One Stitch at a Time this week and I was given this fab digi from Stitchy at Stitchy Bear digi store so it was perfect for this challenge!
I thought I would aim for a male card as they are so difficult to make and the subject suited them!
I used Papermania Burleigh Blue papers with Sarah Hurley polka dot papers, then cut round the digi with a nestie. I then added Red and Blue Card Candy and a Happy Birthday dome greeting.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well! Here I am with my DT card for Dream Valley, and our theme this fortnight is 'Humour'.
We were given Bugaboo images and sentiments and I chose to make a simple card and use just the sentiment as my focus on a chocolate coloured card. I used Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers, then I added American Crafts polka dot ribbons as my border.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with my New Beginnings project for our challenge at Sarah Hurley challenges this fortnight.
I chose my New beginnings project to focus on Jack in the Green festival-which celebrates the beginning of Summer and is a fabulous event for everyone involved with a parade of morris dancers, musicians and figures representing the festival. If you want to learn more here is a link to their Jack in the Green site.
For this project I used plain green 12x12 cardstock I have had for ages and never found a use for (but perfect for Jack in the Green!) with Sarah Hurley papers and a Postcard as my journalling tag. I then used Papermania die cut butterflies and a metal flower as my embellishments.
Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well! This stamp really spoke to me as many of you will know I raise butterflies from caterpillars so it just suits me! I couldn't wait to play with her!
I have stamped her in Memento, then coloured in with Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Sakura pens then accented the butterfly globe by coating it with Glossy accents for a 3D effect.
I then cut her with a nestie but I only wanted the shape on the one side of her for a different look so I cut the other three sides off using my ruler and craft knife.
I used Papermania Aqua Capsule collection papers and made a two patterned border under the nestie. I then placed this on a card blank covered with Henbury Lane papers for the flourishes. I then cut two butterflies out of the Capsule collection papers and added matching gems to them, and to make a trail from them. I then added three in the top corner. Lastly I added a felt bow with a button stitched on which complimented her hair.
Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying the blissful weather! Here I am with a Canvas I have made for my brother to give to a colleague, I hope she likes it!
I used a plain white canvas, and cut out Butterflies with Spellbinders dies, and a flower with Tim Holtz Tattered florals die out of Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby cardstock. I arranged these and folded and shaped them how I liked the look of them-where they are light cardstock they have the strength to do this where paper wouldn't.
I then glued them on with strong glue, and stamped around them with assorted flourish stamps I own in Distress inks.
Lastly I added stamped corners and a button which complimented my design as the flower centre.
What do you think?
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all my followers, you have really kept me pushing to improve my art and craft, and I really appreciate the time you spend visiting and leaving me such wonderful comments! If you haven't already entered my Candy in my sidebar please do, and I welcome any new followers too! :-)
Good morning everyone! Hope you are well :-) Here I am with my Guest design piece for Crafty Sentiments Designs and our theme this week is a fabulous sketch to play along with!
I was given a fab digi from Crafty Sentiments which ive coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, then I used Papermania Portabello Road papers for the sketch. I embellished my card with a dome greeting with 'Lets Celebrate', Wild Orchid Crafts roses, and gems.
Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are well :-) Here I am with a new project for you, a mixed media canvas with an Alice in Wonderland theme. For this project I started by using a mask to create my background with sponge dipped on distress inks and applied to the canvas. Beware only use cheap sponges-I get mine from the pound shop because the texture of the canvas eats away at the sponge! :-)
I then used Alice in Wonderland tickets and images from the Sarah Hurley Wonderland CD (available at Sarah's etsy, you can find it by visiting my etsy in the sidebar as she is in my favourite shops)
I then used genuine vintage buttons my Nan gave to me (what a treasure I must say!) :-)
Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with an Altered project for you. This little shelf I had as a child to store my little characters on and it has been sitting in the loft for years! My mother got it out and asked if I had any ideas for updating it (It was a slightly dark wood with a plaque on the top with flowers on-very 1990's!) So I had a play and this is what I came up with.
I started by priming with Gesso, then painted Metallic Rust colour acrylic paint on top. I then coated it with crackle glaze and let it dry for a good while. Next I altered the plaque by finding a fabulous butterfly heavy sticker embellishment and moulding it to fit. I then painted on my coat of sand colour acrylic paint and waited for the cracks to appear and for my shelves to dry. Lastly I used Glossy accents on the plaque to make it really look like it was meant to be this way.
Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a card made with a new Saturated Canary digi I chose with a lovely gift voucher my friend Jet gave me and paper my friend Sarah gave me for my birthday :-) I have the best friends! :-)
I coloured her with Promarkers and Flexmarkers to compliment Prima Sun Kiss paper, and just added Wild Orchid Crafts roses, American Crafts Ribbon, Card Candy, and Birthday Wishes glitterations greeting. I also used a Memory Box butterfly die to cut Butterflies out of Papermania cardstock and made a little border with this cardstock round my digi too.
Good afternoon everyone, here I am with something a little different from me. I won the Peter Rabbit CD a little while ago and I decided I should really have a play with it. I used Craftwork cards 8x8 card blank in elegant, Kraft card, brown pearlescent sparkly card, a Wooden butterfly, Lace, and a flower with an autumn leaf and brown glitter.
I printed off two papers in Sepia tones from the CD rom and made these into panels for my card, I then printed a decoupage image with a gorgeous frame-which I accented with brown glitter. I used the lace, flower, leaf and butterfly to simply embellish the card as I felt it didnt need a lot of extra fuss with the gorgeous decoupage image I used :-)
Good morning everyone, here I am on my fixed computer *woo* to show you my Guest design project for this week for Crafty Sentiments Designs, whose theme is Bingo! I chose to use Buttons, the coloured image and gems as my bingo line. I was given the gorgeous image from Crafty Sentiments which I coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I then used some gorgeous papers and ribbon from K&Co by Amy Butler, with a Prima flower, buttons and gems on a Kraft gift bag.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well! Phew finally sorted my computer related problems after a bit of a to do with the shop haha!
Here I am with my Dream Valley DT card for our theme this fortnight 'CASE the DT'. For this project I used a lovely image from Lili of the Valley cut with a nestie, and gorgeous Bo Bunny Gabrielle paper, I used the panel shes on as it has a space for a greeting so I found a 'Best Wishes' greeting and placed it in the space. I then used Papermania die cut butterflies I adore!
Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well! Here I am with my DT card for One Stitch at a Time this week, our theme is Favourites and so I used my favourite distress inks and gorgeous pearl buttons :-) I was given Oase's papers to use, they are so pretty and I used a greeting by Stitchy, both available in the store.
I distressed the greeting panel with Tim Holtz distress inks which matched the papers, then I embellished with the buttons. The papers are so pretty I didnt want to cover them with lots of embellishments so I chose a CAS design.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well! Sorry this is late but I have been having computer related problems-its in the repair shop-was meant to be finished by Friday but the usual phone them to find out and hes not even bothering to look until Monday, not impressed!
Anyway, here is a scrapbooking page I have made for Sarah Hurley's 'tags and tickets' challenge this fortnight. I used her Halloween papers as my frames for my photos and her journalling tag to write on, plus a 'Hope' ticket from the Steampunk CD on a base of Bling 12x12 cardstock.
The subject was my favourite band Alkaline Trio, the white bits of paper are personal messages they wrote for me last time I met them when I travelled to London, and it means an awful lot to me, and the photos with them and my friends plus the photo of the heartskulls I made with felt that I gave to the band which I used as a pocket for my 'Hope' ticket :-) They have been a huge part of my life, I have met some fantastic friends through them too so it makes me really happy :-)
Hey everyone, hope you are all well and enjoyed your bank holiday weekend! Here I am with my next Guest Design project for Crafty Sentiments designs and our theme this week is 'Mothers Day'. I made this card with the gorgeous image given to me from Crafty Sentiments which I coloured with Promarkers and Flemarkers. I coloured this to match the new Papermania papers by Lucy Cromwell. Absolutely gorgeous papers and I wanted to showcase these too in this card. I cut the large butterfly with my craft knife so I could lift the wings from the paper to make it 3D. I mounted this paper onto Coredinations card, then placed on to some complimenting paper from the same pad. I embellished the card simply with three complimenting colour buttons and a 'Special Wishes' greeting in the right hand corner of the main panel.
Good morning everyone, hope you are well! Here I am with an Altered set of Drawers I made as a present for my mother. I bought a set of plain wood drawers from another crafter as she was clearing out her craft room and I thought it was a fabulous opportunity to have a play and alter them!
I starting with a base coat of bronze metallic paint, left to dry, then painted on Crackle medium. When this was dry I painted with Sand colour acrylic paint and left this to dry and crackle. It is hard work because you can only put down one layer of the top coat or the crackle medium makes it look awful. I then waited for this to dry.
I used assorted favourite clear stamps of mine, some Tim Holtz, Butterflies and dragonflies stamps which I cannot remember the make of as I have had them so long. I stamped onto the paint using Stazon ink and only lightly pressed so I would get a slightly distressed effect with the stamps too.
Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-)
Here I am with my first Guest design project for May for Crafty Sentiments, whose theme is 'Spots or Stripes'. I was given a fabulous digi by Crafty Sentiments that was perfect for the challenge! I coloured him with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and cut round him with a circle nestie. I used Sarah Hurley polka dot papers, Dovecraft polka dot buttons, Happy Birthday sentiment, American Crafts Ribbon and Lace, and a Vintage button from my stash. I wanted to make a focal point of the buttons and I think I managed this quite well!
