Stampin Up Sail Away!

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-) Sorry I have been quiet on the blogging front, have been creating and so I will have lots to show you over the next few weeks-hopefully my crafty inspiration will hold out! :-)
I am here to show you a card using some of my fabulous Christmas gifts I have been playing with and some old stash too! I was given this gorgeous 'Sail away' stamp by Stampin Up and just couldnt wait to use it! I was digging through my old art stash-I used to do a lot of art before I got into crafting and discovered some watercolour pencils I bought in France about eight years ago and thought they would be perfect to play with along with this image! I stamped the image with Stazon on watercolour paper and cut around this with a nestie. I coloured my image then activated this with water. I was really pleased with the look it gave me. I then chose the Tim Holtz distress paper because the swirls and patterns really looked like waves so worked perfectly with my image! I added some jute and buttons from my stash which I threaded with bakers twine to give the sewn look. I then added a 'Thinking of you' dome greeting.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Tuesday Alchemy: Winter Wonder
Pinspirational: Inspiration Challenge 40
Loves Rubber Stamps: Cute as a Button
City Crafter: Winter Blues
One Crazy Stamper: Anything Goes
Cards Galore: Anything Goes
The Artistic Stamper: My Favourite Stamp
Squigglefly: Winter Blues

Thank you for looking and for all your lovely comments, I really appreciate them :-)

An exciting new challenge for all my crafty friends!

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here to announce something new for my blog that I hope you will all get involved in! :-) I quite often make items which don't fit into a 'card or scrapbook' page category and often struggle to find places to show these in blogland. I thought I would remedy this by making a new two monthly 'Anything goes' challenge where we can all inspire each other with the different crafts we have been playing with! :-) So I mean jewellery, altered items, knitting, etc etc.

I will choose items to showcase on my blog throughout the challenge with a link to your blog to show the talent out there and hold a draw every couple of months of all the entries to win prizes-this first challenge will be sponsored by the wonderful Sarah Hurley-you can drool over all her lovely items at her etsy store here!
I encourage all of you to pop by each others blogs for some fabulous ideas, fun and mostly to meet other like minded crafters and hopeful…

Crafty Ribbons/Fiskars LED canvas

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well. I am here to share a backlit canvas using my Fiskars tools in a rather unusual way. I took the canvas off from the frame and folded it in half to randomly punch across the front of the canvas. I kept the cuttings for later. I then stapled the canvas back onto the frame. Next I stapled muslin fabric across the front of the canvas. I then added Clermont Cotton Lace across the bottom of the canvas as a border. I then got out my flexmarkers and coloured the punched canvas pieces in three complimentary colours. I then asked tiny gems to the centre of each and glued them randomly like flowers across the muslin fabric.

Thank you for visiting and for all your lovely comments!
