I chose this card as my christmas posting-using one of my favourite LOTV images :-) I coloured this with Promarkers and Copics, then glittered. I used Bo Bunny papers and Papermania glittered cardstock as my mats. I used Capsule collection polka dot buttons to decorate and used a Crafty Ribbons ribbon as my sentiment.

Gemstone and Pearl Bracelet

Hey everyone, hope you are well :-) I have been making some of my gifts this year as always and decided to make a semi precious bracelet for someone special. I used Ametrine, Amethyst, and Labradorite with glass pearls and spacers. I also used a magnet clasp. The Labradorite is much prettier in reality-it shines blue and green in the light.

Winter Warmer Christmas Card

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with a card using up some of my favourite papers from christmas past-Bo Bunny Snowfall papers. I coloured my Elisabeth Bell image with Promarkers and Copics. I placed the die cut image on glittered paper and backed this panel with glitter cardstock. I used Coredinations gemstones cardstock for my border mat, and decorated this with buttons. I used a Crafty Ribbons ribbon for my sentiment.

Crafty Ribbons Advent Event Day 21

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with some little gifts I have made for our Christmas advent event at Crafty Ribbons today. These are little lavender pouches made with capsule collection fabric and felt on the reverse from Papermania, and Christmas ribbons from Crafty Ribbons. I cut the front panel of fabric first and machine sewed on the ribbons-you have to go slow doing this as you cant pin the ribbons, so have to feed the fabric and ribbon through the machine slowly. Next I placed the fabric panel against the felt right sides together and sewed all round, just leaving a slight gap to pull the right way out and then fill up with the lavender. Lastly sew up your little gap for the lavender once its full enough for you. They make lovely inexpensive gifts :-)

Upcycling Lightbulbs for Christmas!

Good afternoon everyone-as you know I am a huge fan of upcycling and I was told about an upcycling competition that was a little bit different from what I had tried before so I thought I would give it a go-got to love a challenge!

I have tried to do you a step by step for inspiration-I didnt want to get paint on my lovely camera so I did my best taking step by step pics-dont worry it will all be clearly explained!

As you can see in my first photo I took two old lightbulbs and cleaned them with a bit of kitchen towel and then got out the gesso to make a good base for the acrylic paint I wanted to use-the glass will obviously struggle to take the paint otherwise due to the shiny texture. Gesso creates a lovely matt starting point and is easy to paint on glass. Before you paint you need to wear an apron (yes I learnt that lesson to my detriment with a nice acrylic paint decoration of my favourite jumper oops!) and find a surface to hold your bulb while it dries so I used my old glass tea coaster. Any flat surface that is out of harms way is fine. You only need one coat of gesso, and hold the bulb by the bottom as you paint then carefully place it on your drying surface. Leave to dry for an hour or so. 

Choose your acrylic paint and I used quite a large, flat brush as you can see. I chose metallic effect acrylic paints as this gives more of a glamorous christmas look! Yet again hold the bulb by the bottom and eave your bulb to dry in the same manner as before for at least half an hour/hour for each coat. I would paint another coat when I could see the paint had dried enough to not be sticky. It took me four coats to cover the bulb, then I left to really dry safely overnight somewhere safe where it wouldnt get knocked over!

I chose to decorate my baubles with gems, dew drops, pearls, die cut glitter borders and snowflakes, and glitter ribbon to match the die cuts. I used Quick dry glue to attach the die cuts as this means when you press your snowflakes or decorations to the curve of the bulb you dont have to sit there for hours trying to hold it down to stick! I used adhesive gems and pearls to make life easier and once I had placed my snowflakes I randomly attached these as I liked. On the top of the bulb I ran double sided tape around it, then cut a length of ribbon and stuck this to create a hanging piece to the double sided tape. I then disguised the top with a length of filigree die cut and placed gems around the bits that were left visible.

And the finished baubles-I really hope you think it was worth the effort-they are now sitting on my christmas tree sparkling in the light! :-)

Handmade Butterfly Journal with Brown envelope base

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) I have been working on this project for a little while-a journal to collect the photos of butterflies I took this year to look at when I need a lift! It was really lovely to create and I really love how it came out :-)

It was made with Brown paper envelopes from poundland, Patio Party papers from Stampin' Up, Matching ribbons, Stampin' Up inks and cardstock which match with the Patio Party set, gems, die cutters and assorted stamp sets. 

I created each page inside with at least three envelopes for pockets, the base and for the panel for binding. On each journalling panel I had photos of butterflies and on the reverse an explanation of which species, where they were photographed and any other information I wanted to share.

This page has two pockets, and two pull out journalling panels with photos of butterflies, decorated with Papermania capsule collection bow, and a wooden heart. The sentiment is a clear stamp by TPC studios.

Crafty Ribbons Day 12 Advent Event

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with my first project for our 'Crafty Advent' event at Crafty Ribbons on our Inspiration blog where each day we share inspiration projects using our ribbons and offer prizes from some great sponsors! I bought a plain wicker heart a while ago and I was waiting to come up with a project to alter it for. I thought it would make a pretty christmas decoration. I sprayed all over first with irridescent glitter spray varnish by Crafters companion. I then decorated with gorgeous crafty ribbons christmas ribbon and jam pot ribbons. Lastly I made pretty snowflake decorations with die cut felt using a spellbinders die set. Be warned this is a really tedious job trying to remove felt from such delicate die cutters! ;-) I finished the centre of my snowflakes using polka dot buttons from papermanias festive collection.

Green and Rose Polka Dot Oilcloth Vanity Bag

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with a project I am very proud of. As many of you who follow my blog will know my challenge to myself this year was to teach myself how to machine sew-I had a teacher at school who was a dragon and very much frightened me off sewing for many years but after falling in love with craft I thought this was sad and that I should at least try again! So here is my first ever project with a zip and first ever oilcloth project. I bought some oilcloth remnants online which gave me a lot of small pieces of fabric in lots of random designs to play with-perfect when you only plan little projects with oilcloth and makes it much cheaper!  I researched online the best tips for sewing oilcloth fabric and discovered I needed leather needles and a teflon foot for my machine so I invested in these too.

I cut two rectangles using this gorgeous green rose oilcloth and chose a zip which was a complimenting colour. I then machine sewed the zip on to each panel using a zip foot on my machine. Next I opened the zip half way so I could turn it out the right way when I finished sewing the panels together all the way. I sewed the three sides of the panels left with right sides together. I then turned it out and was left with a pretty little vanity bag :-) Cheap and relatively easy to make but are lovely gifts to give-exactly what we need this time of year!

Sarah Hurley Challenges-Create your own background!

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with my card for our 'Create your own background' challenge at Sarah Hurley challenges this time. I made a CAS card using Sarah's butterfly stamps which I adore (of course, butterflies...!), two colours of ink by stampin' up and coredinations cardstock. I made my background panel first by stamping randomly with butterfly stamps in each colour. I  then mounted this on to a panel of blue cardstock. I then created my sentiment panel by stamping the sentiment and decorating this with stamped butterflies to tie in to the rest of the card.
I made this for one of my followers I have had the pleasure of meeting by email who is having a hard time at the moment, I really hope it brightens her day :-)

For this project I found a display box which I altered with acrylic paints which I used as a stain by painting lightly in layers using a sponge. I then stamped butterflies and related sentiments using stazon and lastly painted decorations with gold acrylic paint.
