Crafty Ribbons 9th Day of Christmas Inspiration

I am here with some inspiration for our Days of Christmas event at Crafty Ribbons. I made a tag for my presents using a ribbon from Christmas Owls collection here. I used a kraft tag and cut away the string. I covered with My Minds Eye papers, then punched a reinforced the hole for the string using my crop a dile and a gold eyelet. I used bakers twine as my tie. I then used a 3D image I had in my christmas stash and added the Christmas Owls ribbon and strips of gold gems to embellish.

Crafty Ribbons 7th Day of Christmas Inspiration

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I am here with my creation for day 7 of our Days of Christmas event at Crafty Ribbons :-) For this card I used Crafty Ribbons Deck the Halls ribbon found here, Papers and James the Bear stamp from Lili of the Valley, Promarkers, Deco Art glitter, Nestabilities, Wooden die cut snowflakes, gems, papermania greeting and some lace. I coloured James with Promarkers and added glitter accents on the white areas of his hat with Deco art glitter. I then matted him onto kraft cardstock. I made a kraft cardstock panel to fit on the card and  then covered this with the LOTV papers and the deck the halls ribbon as my border. I added some lace to soften the bottom of the card and added a sentiment over this. I placed James in the centre then added my die cut snowflakes which I further embellished using pearls and gems.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge- Penguin Pals!

Good morning everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here with my DT creation for our 'Penguin Pals' challenge over at Crafty Ribbons! I have been making little christmas gifts for friends and so I had the idea to alter a lovely plain glass jar I found so I used Crafty Ribbons Penguin Pals digi printed onto Crafty Computer Paper's inkjet waterslide transfer paper, and ribbon to match from the Penguin Pals range here. I started by sizing the Penguin in serif software and printing it onto the special paper. I then varnished the paper twice and left for 48 hours. To use I immersed the image in water for 30 seconds, and then carefully applied to my jar. It helps if the jar is a little wet itself where you want the image to be because that way the image moves easily if it needs repositioning. I then tied ribbon onto the top of the jar, and filled it with yummy chewits! Thank you for looking and for all your lovely comments!

Crafty Ribbons 4th Day of Christmas Inspiration

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I used bakers twine which I added a bell charm to and tied it shut on the other side of the tag so it moves but not too much :-) I then used a 3D image I had in my christmas stash and added the Christmas Owls 'Joyeux Noel' ribbon.

Twine Wrapped Christmas Heart Decoration

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well! I am here with one of my little handmade presents for my friends :-) I started with a polystyrene heart, twine, Home for Christmas ribbon and bow, gems, eye pin for jewellery making, split ring and thin red ribbon.
I used double sided tape to affix the twine to the heart. I began at the bottom-winding the twine around in a circle and moving up from there. I dabbed the start with some glue to make sure it would stay put. I wound it to the top until I couldnt wrap it round both sides anymore-I then wound twine on one side of the heart, cut then did the same on the other. I dabbed both ends with glue. I put glue on an eye pin I use for jewellery making and plunged this into the top of the heart so I could hang it well. I then added a split ring and tied ribbon from this.
I then decorated my heart simply by using Home for Christmas ribbon and a bow, adding a little gem to the centre of the ribbon.

A Little Bit Crafty-Anything Goes but NOT Christmas!

Good morning everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here with my DT creation for A Little Bit Crafty this time. I made a masculine Thank you card-I find men can be quite difficult to create for but these papers from Bo Bunny (I think they are called timepiece!) lend themselves well to masculine creations. I paired these papers with a vintage typewriter digi and a sentiment printed onto cardstock on paper to emulate paper coming out of the typewriter. I also curved this 'paper' around my craft knife for a realistic shape and then placed 3D foam tape under the centre of the paper so it sticks up like its coming from out of the typewriter.

My Upcycled Bulb Christmas Mobile with Wind chimes

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well! I am here with an entry for an upcycling competition at LightBulbs Direct where they encourage to take your old bulbs and upcycle them to give them a new lease of life! I wanted to make something really special so I decided to make a Christmas mobile with wind chimes with my bulbs as the main stars of the creation!
This year the fashion is neutral colours-twine with accents of colour and sparkle and I love that look so I used that as my inspiration.
Here are some photos of the mobile close up as its hard to appreciate from afar!  There is a little tutorial underneath so please read on if you are interested in how I made it :-)

Basically I started with twine-cheap to buy but I think a very attractive base. I used Double sided tape directly onto the bulbs glass element and began winding the twine from the top of the glass bulb and moving down, adding double sided tape as I went. I used two types of bulbs for a different look with similar elem…

Art Deco Special Pocket Card

Good morning everyone, I hope you are well :-) I am here with a special pocket card I made with Papermania Art Deco elements, Glitter cardstock, Glitter Ribbon, Metallic Cardstock, Feathers, Gems and pearls, eyelets and twine. I started by creating a tri fold card with a pocket at the back panel for a tag.  I decorated each panel differently using similar themes. On the back panel I embossed the metallic cardstock with an art deco embossing folder and added the image in the centre. Crafty Ribbons Challenge-Animals at Christmas

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I am here with my DT creation for our 'Animals at Christmas' challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenge this time.  I used Mice Christmas Ribbons which I paired with a mouse image by Penny Black, a kraft bag, hessian flowers, gems and Silent Night embellishments and papers by First Edition. I coloured my image with promarkers and then added glitter onto the flakes of snow in the photo and on the ice. I covered the bag with papers then added ribbon to the join of these. Next I added my image and then decorated with flowers either side of it. I also added two more ribbons from the Mice Christmas Ribbons collection to finish.

Backlit 3D Embossed Heart Canvas

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a present for a friend :-) For this project I used blank canvas, linen cardstock, led lights, clear holographic embossing powder, heart dies, cosmic shimmer pigment powder, needle, thread and glue. I began by sewing the led lights into the back of the canvas using a needle and thread. Any ends of the threads I secured with a knot and a dab of glue to seal. I then cut a panel of linen cardstock to cover the front of the canvas. I then ran this through my die cutting machine with all the heart dies in a nesting pattern. I then embossed and coloured some of the die cut hearts with clear holographic embossing powder covering stamped swirls and I painted the colour with cosmic shimmer powder (so in real life its dark and pearlescent and as you move the hearts look a different shimmering colour or shine depending on the angle). I then glued the panel and hearts onto the canvas. The hearts I had left blank I glued directly onto the …

A Little Bit Crafty-Less is more! Midway Inspiration

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I am here with some midway inspiration for our 'Less is More' challenge at A little bit Crafty! I used a new die for the butterflies in the shape of a heart-its a Memory box die. I began by cutting a panel to fit the front of my card. I then put this through my die cutting machine to get the butterfly heart effect. The butterflies arent cut completely from the cardstock, just the edges so they give the look of flying. This is a challenge for how to include colour in these so my workaround was to paint the butterflies with assorted colours of cosmic shimmer. So in person this card is really pearlescent in look. I then added a panel of pearlescent cardstock in a complimenting colour behind my butterfly panel. This shows through the undersides of the butterflies too. I then mounted all onto a card blank. LOTV Watching and Waiting Christmas Card

+ Good afternoon everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here with one of my christmas cards in my effort to try to make christmas less stressful! I used Lili of the Valley Watching and Waiting stamp which I coloured with promarkers and copics, and glittered with deco glitter. I paired the image with First Edition Silent Night papers, glitter cardstock and coredination cards in complimenting colours. I used self adhesive cream lace, die cut wooden snowflakes and gems as my embellishments. I added a little 'Merry Christmas' die cut as my sentiment.

Backlit Pastels Butterfly Canvas

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here to show you something I made for my 'All Crafts Challenge' where we encourage people to enter their non card creations :-) I made a backlit butterfly canvas as a present for a friend. I used a small canvas, led lights (these dont get hot so are safe), rainbow inks, clear embossing powder, Docrafts butterfly dies and stamps, Memory box butterfly dies and Stampin' Up Butterfly stamp and punch, white cotton and a needle and linen cardstock. I began by stitching the lights into the back of the canvas with the white thread and needle. I secured each end of thread with a knot and a dab of glue so its strong. This way I can keep lights from all falling to the bottom! I then cut a panel of linen cardstock to fit my canvas. I then die cut some shapes directly from this panel using the dies and putting it through my grand calibur. I then decorated the butterflies by stamping in different colour inks and heat embossing over th…
