Sarah Hurley 365 Celebration

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with my creation for our 'Celebrations' challenge at Sarah Hurley 365. I found this faux slate heart a while ago, it was plain and so I wanted to jazz it up and I had the idea to heat emboss prettiness onto it with white embossing powder and I am really pleased with the distressed effect :-) It wasnt the easiest project as the base is obviously uneven and so I had to clean mistakes a few times using soap and a toothbrush (it was the only way to get the embossing ink off completely, I tried baby wipes first!). I did a section at a time, securing the image by heat embossing it, then moving on to the next image I wanted to use. The only thing was it took ages to melt the embossing powder because the slate would just absorb the heat-but I persevered and got there eventually-just be aware of this if you choose to do the same-youll need somewhere heat resistant to rest it on and dont burn your hands trying to touch the heart straight after heat setting.
Thank you for looking and for all your lovely comments :-)

Home Decor Project-Beaded Curtain Tie Backs

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well :-) I am here with my favourite home decor make in a while. My father made me a four poster bed as he had some spare wood and I have always wanted one! So my job was to sort out the curtains and the decor to go with it. The bed was painted white and I chose Turquoise organza for my curtains. I thought for a while what sort of look I wanted and had the idea to make beaded tie backs, I wanted an opulent look so I looked for a good mix of Turquoise and other assorted vintage metallic beads, gem beads and pearls which matched well.  I found a fabulous mix of odd beads on ebay, then bought some plastic rings for my hooks, and the rest I had in my stash.  I also used Tiger tail, crimp beads, crimp covers and my jewellery tools.  I wanted to keep them as random mixes so I made each differently. I started by doubling my tiger tail, and folding this over, then fixing the first ring with a crimp and covered this with the crimp cover. I then threaded m…
