Homemade Jute Cork board and pins

Another project for my new room! I was bored of the old office style thin wooden framed cork boards I had and they needed replacing anyway. I wanted my new board to be different and I love the look of jute. I looked at buying one with a nice frame but they were expensive-and when decorating every penny matters.

So I bought a large silver photo frame I liked and took it apart. I discarded the glass and the back of the frame.

I had two sheets of cork and a layer of jute. I placed these in the frame, with mod podge between the layers and lastly added thick corrugated cardboard to the back. We then affixed it to the wall with screws.

Next I made my own decorative pins with attractive buttons I had in my stash. That way I get to keep them but for a useful purpose instead of them sitting in tins!

Crafty Ribbons/Fiskars LED canvas

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are well. I am here to share a backlit canvas using my Fiskars tools in a rather unusual way. I took the canvas off from the frame and folded it in half to randomly punch across the front of the canvas. I kept the cuttings for later. I then stapled the canvas back onto the frame. Next I stapled muslin fabric across the front of the canvas. I then added Clermont Cotton Lace across the bottom of the canvas as a border. I then got out my flexmarkers and coloured the punched canvas pieces in three complimentary colours. I then asked tiny gems to the centre of each and glued them randomly like flowers across the muslin fabric.

Alkaline Trio lyrics mixed media canvas

I am here to show you a canvas I created using printable cotton, cotton batting, plastic vintage style frame, acrylic paints, die cut foam, metal embellishments, glitters, texture pastes and nail caviar. The lyric fabric I created in a craft program then printed onto cotton, and placed in the frame after I had stuffed the frame with cotton batting.
