All Crafts Challenge Inspiration 'A Practical Handyman' DIY altered drawer set

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a special gift I made :-) Its for a man who is really into DIY and practical crafts. I couldnt think what to make him then an idea popped into my head-a vintage style storage for the bits and pieces that come with that sort of hobby! I found a battered old hardback book called 'The Practical Handyman' which was published in 1930. The book was in a really sorry state so I thought it deserved a new lease of life! I cut the pages from the book with my craft knife, set them aside and threw away the spine.  I then cut out the most interesting parts of the book and inked with Tim Holtz Distress inks for an even more aged look. I then decoupaged these onto the unit for the drawers using mod podge. I made sure they got covered well and varnished a few coats once dry also using mod podge. I left the drawers plain wood as a design feature. I then used a thin coat of vaseline inside the unit and alongside the drawers to stop them sticking.

Crafty Ribbons 9th Day of Christmas Inspiration

I am here with some inspiration for our Days of Christmas event at Crafty Ribbons. I made a tag for my presents using a ribbon from Christmas Owls collection here. I used a kraft tag and cut away the string. I covered with My Minds Eye papers, then punched a reinforced the hole for the string using my crop a dile and a gold eyelet. I used bakers twine as my tie. I then used a 3D image I had in my christmas stash and added the Christmas Owls ribbon and strips of gold gems to embellish.

Crafty Ribbons 7th Day of Christmas Inspiration

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I am here with my creation for day 7 of our Days of Christmas event at Crafty Ribbons :-) For this card I used Crafty Ribbons Deck the Halls ribbon found here, Papers and James the Bear stamp from Lili of the Valley, Promarkers, Deco Art glitter, Nestabilities, Wooden die cut snowflakes, gems, papermania greeting and some lace. I coloured James with Promarkers and added glitter accents on the white areas of his hat with Deco art glitter. I then matted him onto kraft cardstock. I made a kraft cardstock panel to fit on the card and  then covered this with the LOTV papers and the deck the halls ribbon as my border. I added some lace to soften the bottom of the card and added a sentiment over this. I placed James in the centre then added my die cut snowflakes which I further embellished using pearls and gems.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge- Penguin Pals!

Good morning everyone! Hope you are well :-) I am here with my DT creation for our 'Penguin Pals' challenge over at Crafty Ribbons! I have been making little christmas gifts for friends and so I had the idea to alter a lovely plain glass jar I found so I used Crafty Ribbons Penguin Pals digi printed onto Crafty Computer Paper's inkjet waterslide transfer paper, and ribbon to match from the Penguin Pals range here. I started by sizing the Penguin in serif software and printing it onto the special paper. I then varnished the paper twice and left for 48 hours. To use I immersed the image in water for 30 seconds, and then carefully applied to my jar. It helps if the jar is a little wet itself where you want the image to be because that way the image moves easily if it needs repositioning. I then tied ribbon onto the top of the jar, and filled it with yummy chewits! Thank you for looking and for all your lovely comments!

Crafty Ribbons 4th Day of Christmas Inspiration

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I used bakers twine which I added a bell charm to and tied it shut on the other side of the tag so it moves but not too much :-) I then used a 3D image I had in my christmas stash and added the Christmas Owls 'Joyeux Noel' ribbon.
