Craft my life

Good morning everyone! I am here with a colourful rainbow ribbon necklace for our 'Rainbow' challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenge :)
I used various polka dot ribbons and jam pot ribbons from Crafty Ribbons which I tied onto a ring in a rainbow display. I then added a jump ring and purple elastic to hang from the neck. Something bright for summer!

Good morning everyone, hope you are well :) I am here with a necklace made for our 'Circles' challenge at Crafty Ribbons. I began with the pendant-I bought some brass blanks and glass domes a while ago and hadn't got around to creating with them yet but I found the perfect image for them! I used papermania paper which had butterflies on and glued the glass dome onto the paper using clear varnish glue. I waited for this to dry, then cut around the dome with scissors to remove the extra paper. I then used the same glue to affix the glass dome with the image on. I wanted to use Crafty Ribbons Lace as my necklace as it really works well with the vintage look. I used ribbon clasps at the ends with glue to make sure it was fixed well and wouldn't fray. I then added a magnetic clasp. Next I found the centre and used a jump ring to gather the lace and hang the pendant from.

Good evening everyone, hope you are well :) Still feeling not right so not my normal self but these were a very simple make :) Many of you will well know my love of butterflies. I really adore them, and even raise caterpillars (in fact I have some at the moment) :) So as a gift for my friends I made these little pouches with instructions I created in Craft Artist :)
I bought a couple of boxes of Butterfly seed mix-a collection of plants butterflies love to feed from to plant in their gardens. I split the packet into card bags and sealed.
I then went into the Craft Artist software and designed three different labels for variety.
I printed these onto cardstock and cut them into their individual shapes. I then hand wrote the instructions on the reverse. To keep them nice however long they are needed as the seeds grow I laminated them. This way they can keep the label and discard the rest of the wrapper.

I had some lovely news I wanted to share with you all-I came first in the Lightbulbs Direct Upcycling Competition 2014 with my twine wrapped upcycled light bulbs mobile :)

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a special gift I made :-) Its for a man who is really into DIY and practical crafts. I couldnt think what to make him then an idea popped into my head-a vintage style storage for the bits and pieces that come with that sort of hobby! I found a battered old hardback book called 'The Practical Handyman' which was published in 1930. The book was in a really sorry state so I thought it deserved a new lease of life! I cut the pages from the book with my craft knife, set them aside and threw away the spine.  I then cut out the most interesting parts of the book and inked with Tim Holtz Distress inks for an even more aged look. I then decoupaged these onto the unit for the drawers using mod podge. I made sure they got covered well and varnished a few coats once dry also using mod podge. I left the drawers plain wood as a design feature. I then used a thin coat of vaseline inside the unit and alongside the drawers to stop them sticking.
