Alkaline Trio Clock

Good evening everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a clock I made as a gift for a friend. I made an A4 design of lyrics in a craft program then printed onto pretty design paper. On the edges I added musical notes paper, then I added the clock movement and four shrink plastic heartskulls.

Alkaline Trio Lyric Shaker Poster

I created a 'snow globe' type poster for a friend. I created a poster and embossed with black butterflies. I then wanted to add something extra special so I created the globe effect by adding nail caviar in pretty colours (various purples, black and silver) and then sealed the unit so they wouldn't escape from the frame. I then used texture paste on the frame and painted with black and acrylic then sealed with mod podge.

Mourn Again Music themed LED backlit canvas

I wanted to create something special for Derek from Alkaline trio so I decided to make him a back lit canvas themed around his solo work. I sewed LED lights into the back of the canvas, then made a design and pierced the card stock to make 'stars' around the trees to really show the light behind. Then I made a 'frame' with embossed metallic card stock which I sanded and added embellishments to. A little while later Derek featured it on his instagram which was a huge honour.

Legacy Scrapbook

One project I have been creating for years is a 'Legacy' scrapbook where I took all the photos I could get hold of, arrest their decay from age by scanning into the computer and working to restore them to the best of my ability with photoshop and then printing and creating with the photos to honour them as they should be honoured as my ancestors. I bought a kit a long while ago so I have four scrapbooks to cover my father's and mother's branches of the family from my grandparents back with photos from each family. I am trying to create a legacy scrapbook I can pass on to family that come after me and hopefully pass on a love of the past. I chose a distressed type kit because it fits the age of the photos and is beautiful despite the flaws. I hope you enjoy seeing them. Have a good day :)

Alkaline Trio Wooden Treasure Chest

Hey everyone, hope you are well. I am here with a gift I made for my friend Nicola. Its a wooden chest with padded lyric printed fabric top. I started with the fabric. I used printable cotton, made a design with various trio lyrics and embellishments and printed it. I then found a plastic vintage frame and glued it onto the top.
I made a raised pattern around the frame with texture pastes and added wooden embellishments in each corner. I then painted it all with black, then varnished and sealed with hard coat mod podge.
Then I got out some cotton batting you use in quilts and padded inside the frame. Lastly I placed the fabric inside.
Thank you for visiting, hope you have a good day! :)

Crafty Ribbons Christmas Lavender bags

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with some simple gifts to give at Christmas time. I used Crafty Ribbons Nisse Ribbon, fat quarters, felt, lavender and rice. You cut the fabric and ribbon to sew on the sewing machine inside out. You leave a little hole open and then I used a tidy tray to mix lavender and rice together and funnelled it into the little sachets. Lastly you hand sew them shut :)

Crafty Ribbons Summer Memories Hair Bow

Hey everyone, I hope you are well. I am here with a hair ribbon I made with some of my favourite ribbons ever, Tulip fields and Lots a Dots ribbon! As we head towards the season of giving its always a good idea to get ahead with some projects like these so you don't have to experience the stress of crafting at the last minute. That being said who am I kidding...I always end up stressing for that reason! :)

Crafty Ribbons Poppy Wreath

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a wreath I made using various Crafty Ribbons ribbon. Butterfly Box with felt lining

Hey everyone, I hope you are well! I am here with a gift I made for my friend's special birthday. I found some gorgeous napkins in a supermarket that I couldn't bear to use just wiping up so I decided to use them to cover some plain wooden boxes :)

I put mod podge on the wood then carefully folded the napkin down onto the wood and tapped any air bubbles out gently. I then left it to dry. On the top was a heart shape void. I didn't want to see inside the box from the outside so I found some pretty paper that matched the butterflies and placed it in the top of the lid, then covered this with thick cardstock on the inside for strength. I varnished the outside of the box and the heart cut out with more mod podge and left to dry. I then added a butterfly cut from felt over the heart.
Lastly I cut panels of felt in a similar colour to the butterflies on the outside and covered the inside.

Crafty Ribbons Nautical Brooches

Good morning everyone, hope you are well! I am here with some Nautical Brooches I made for Crafty Ribbons using Nautical Ribbon and Grosgrain Ribbon. To avoid the bulk of tying bows I folded and glued them and then used a brooch blank on the back :)

Crafty Ribbons Alkaline Trio Only Love Canvas

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here to share a canvas I made for a trio friend for our monthly postal swap :) I chose 'Only Love' as my inspiration and I started by creating the lyric quote and framing it with a wooden frame. I then added jute ribbon as a mat for underneath.
I used a stencil for a tree and four different colours of tim holtz distress ink then covered it in fabric mod podge. I then embossed some areas using vintage embossing powder. I used texture paste in the top corner and then stamped over it with a script stamp.

Next I added the lace from Crafty Ribbons and the 'love' wood decoration over the top. I positioned my lyric frame. Lastly I added a trio charm I made using shrink plastic and tiny butterflies I had cut from drink cans.

Crafty Ribbons Butterfly Scrapbook page

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a scrapbook page I have made to document some of my butterfly photography.
I used Papermania Capsule Collection papers and cardstock, kraft card, Crafty Ribbons Butterfly script ribbon, a wooden heart, embossing inks and papers.
I die cut the photo I chose and then did the same with kraft card and other patterned paper. I set the layout out with the ribbon and jute as the centre element and then drew stitches around each paper element.
I heat embossed 'love' onto the wooden heart embellishment and used it as my sentiment and then embellished with flowers.

Beauty and the Beast Sparkling Black Rose Lamp

Hey everyone, I hope you are well. I am here to share a personalised version of the rose in the Beauty in the Beast. (To represent my username sparklingblackrose!) I found a gorgeous velvety rose on etsy, a small bell jar, some silver wire leds with a remote and I got out my mica pigment from my stash.

I drilled a hole into the bottom of the base to make sure the flower stood up unsupported. I then cut away any leaves on the stem which were too wide for the jar. I got out my black mica pigments and painted them onto the edges of the flower petals and let them dry.
I then arranged the lights on the base and around the flower, lastly attaching the end of the lights to the top of the jar with a tiny bit of white tack.

Vintage Style Mini Drawers

Hey everyone, hope you are well! I am here with a set of mini drawers I have been meaning to alter for a long while. They came as plain wood with tiny handles I didn't like glued on. I pulled off the handles straight away!

I embossed some good quality cardstock with a vintage style embossing folder. I then carefully cut around the embossed pattern and glued onto the wood to give some texture.
I then painted the drawers in three different colours of chalk paint. After this was dry I mixed various vintage colours of mica pigment powder into the matte varnish and applied using sponges. I painted a generous amount on to the whole side then took a dry sponge to take some of the excess off around the embossed areas so that the whole surface distressed but with the concentration on the embossed pattern. I did this for two coats and left to dry.

I then drilled tiny holes into the drawers and used some gorgeous vintage style label drawer pulls I got from docrafts ages ago, this way it is …

Handmade LED Fairy Jars

Hey everyone, I hope you are well :) I was thinking of ideas for presents when this idea popped in my brain. You must all know how much I love LED lighting from my older projects but as time passes they get even better! Smaller and much easier to make with :)

I saw a plain set of jars in a store for a reasonable price so I thought I would try to make my own LED fairy jars to give as presents for christmas!

I bought some LED fairy lights on wire with a small watch battery online and thought I would pair them if I could work out how to decorate the glass.

Anyway after considering it for a while I remembered my stash of Adirondack inks I have and rarely use. They are fantastic because they 'stick' to all kinds of surfaces-one of which is glass!

I loaded the felt with the chosen colours and repeatedly stamped over the glass until I was happy with the colouring. When the inks were dry I then got out my Sparkle Mod Podge and gave the jar two coats of sparkly varnish. You cant see the sp…
