Good morning everyone, hope you are well :-) Here I am with an Altered project for you. This little shelf I had as a child to store my little characters on and it has been sitting in the loft for years! My mother got it out and asked if I had any ideas for updating it (It was a slightly dark wood with a plaque on the top with flowers on-very 1990's!) So I had a play and this is what I came up with.
I started by priming with Gesso, then painted Metallic Rust colour acrylic paint on top. I then coated it with crackle glaze and let it dry for a good while. Next I altered the plaque by finding a fabulous butterfly heavy sticker embellishment and moulding it to fit. I then painted on my coat of sand colour acrylic paint and waited for the cracks to appear and for my shelves to dry. Lastly I used Glossy accents on the plaque to make it really look like it was meant to be this way.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafty Calender Challenge: Things with Wings
Crafts4Eternity: Wonderful Wings
Fairy Tale Challenge: Things with Wings
Creative Craft Challenges: Distress it
Tando Creative Challenges: Alter it
Thank you for looking and for your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them :-)
